Electrical Safety

Electrical Fires Contribute to Almost 50% of all Structural Fires

SAFETY TIPS:

Replace loose or frayed cords on all electrical cords.

Avoid running extension cords under carpets

If you have small children make sure all outlets are covered with plastic safety covers

Avoid overloading individual outlets

If outlets or switches feel warm, shut off the circuit and call an electrician

When possible, avoid devices that allow you to plug in multiple appliances to one outlet

Place lamps away from things that can burn and use bulbs that match the lamps recommended wattage
